Parliamentary elections are expected to be held on or before 19 April 2026, following the decision of President Vjosa Osmani to dissolve the Assembly. The decision was based on the failure of the Assembly of Kosovo to elect a new president one month before the end of the current president’s mandate.[1][2] One day after the failure to elect the President in the 2026 Kosovan presidential election, due to the lack of quorum, Vetëvendosje addressed the Constitutional Court to suspend the constitutional deadlines and impose an interim measure.[3] On 6 March, Vetëvendosje sent the President’s decree on the announcement of elections to the Constitutional Court, requesting the Court to declare it unconstitutional.[4]
